1.When should I call a moving company?

The earlier, the better. Although the actual truck assignment may not be made until a few days before your move, it's always wise to give your moving 15 days, if possible. The more lead time you can give, the more likely they will be able to meet your preferred delivery schedule.

All moving companies, for their standard type of service, require alternate pickup and delivery dates. They do their best, of course, to comply with the dates you prefer or the nearest possible alternatives. You will be notified in advance of the loading date for your goods and of the estimated date of arrival.

2.Do I need an estimate?

Generally, the moving company agent will make a pre-move survey of your household goods to be transported or the description is given over the phone. This survey is done to determine the approximate cost of the movement and the amount of truck space your goods will occupy. This exercise might consume a day or two.

Keeping in mind the time taken for conducting the pre-move survey and submission of the estimate, we have arrived at packages in the form of user-friendly inventory list for your utmost convenience. 3.How do you determine what my move will cost?

The total cost will include the transportation costs, packaging and charges for packing and unpacking performed by the relocating company representatives. Basic transportation charges depend on the actual volume of your goods measured in terms of Cubic feet (Cft) and the distance they will travel. These charges are based on "tariff" rate schedules.

4.What is a tariff?

This is the list of rules, regulations, available services and resulting charges used by all relocating companies which provide within and interstate transportation of household/commercial goods. The tariffs are published by each relocating company in our database and include its various services. The tariffs are available to you upon proceeding for payment after selecting the operator of your choice.

5.How do I select which moving companies will provide me with the best moving estimate and service?

We have provided information for each of the operator in our database with regards to their reputation, certifications and business standards. You have the ease of selecting the operator of your choice using your discretion based upon the standards mentioned by them

6.How should I pay and what are the payment methods?

Quote provisions require that all charges be paid beforehand. Payments can be made using debit/credit cards and online transaction. We have provided the user with multiple payment options. Whatever works for you is great. Once your payment is made, a confirmation for the same is provided to both the user and operator over SMS service and email confirmation, giving contact details of both the parties. Should there be a balance of payment, you are required to pay up directly to the operator.

7.Can I pack and move my plants?

Most moving companies will not take your plants. The stress and heat of being inside of the moving truck usually causes them to die. However, upon your insistence our operators would be willing to move your plants on chargeable basis since the plants occupy major space. The operators may also move a small quantity of plants, up to 7, free of cost.

8.How will I know where my shipment is once it leaves my home?

Although most of the moving companies do not have the GPRS ability to track their truck movement, they have established an SMS feature through which we would update your consignment in the portal.

9.How will I know when my shipment is going to be delivered?

Your driver will contact you 24 hours prior to delivery. The moving company will assign a customer service representative as your primary contact and they will be able to provide you with an update as to the date your goods will arrive.

10.How do I file and receive my settlement on my claim?

Claims are always unpleasant - no one wants to have to deal with the problem but damage does occur and claims are a result. The best advice is to understand the claims settlement procedure prior to moving. It is important that you understand your coverage and how to proceed through the claims process.

Claims adjusters with the moving company are people with a difficult job. It is better to approach them with kindness than anger. Understand you coverage and be certain to have the proper documentation in the form of an inventory with the damage noted.
