1. When should I contact the movers?

No need to procrastinate here. Try to see you do not come under undue stress for delaying your plan. Earlier the better applies here. The more lead time you give the better for your plans to hire your preferred service provider. All Packers and Movers, for their standard service package would need alternate delivery dates, while pick up can be your choice. You will receive a call from the movers to coordinate on pick up time and you will also be notified in advance of the estimated date of arrival.

2. How will I receive the quote?

Under present industry norms, a representative from the moving company will conduct a physical survey of your household goods to be shipped or the description is given over the phone. This survey is taken to determine the cost of move and the amount of truck space your goods will occupy. This exercise might consume a day or two. Keeping in mind the time taken for conducting the pre-move survey and submission of the estimate, we have developed an online tool in the form of an user-friendly inventory selection for your utmost convenience. This forms a shopping cart for your present move providing accurate volume for each of the articles that determines the total volume of goods to be shipped. Your entire exercise of contacting the relocating company for the pre-move survey for quote submission and payment hassles have been cut-short to just a click of the button for your convenience, safety and saving of precious time.

3. How will you arrive at my moving cost?

The total cost of move includes the cost of packing material, labor, transportation and last mile charges. Basic transportation charges depend on the actual volume of your goods measured in terms of Cubic Feet (Cft) and the distance they will travel.

4. Why are you providing me with different packages?

Our customers demand various moving services that can be just basic or customized. Since we are a technology platform, we found it easy to establish 3 different readymade packages for our customers that suit their actual moving needs – Basic, Standard and Premium. The prices may vary according to volume, distance and packing services. Following is the description of our services;

Basic: Loading, Transporting and Unloading. (No carton boxes provided)

Standard: Packing, Transporting, Unloading, Unpacking and re-arranging of all major items. (Returnable carton boxes are provided according to your specifications)

Premium: Premium quality packing with Bubble-wraps and reinforcement for your fragile and expensive goods, Transporting, Unloading, Unpacking and re-arranging of all major items. (Returnable carton boxes are provided according to your specifications)

5. How will I know moving company will provide the best and affordable service?

We have a stringent verification process for on-boarding movers and transporters on our platform. This process includes their total experience, valid registration, packaging material used, trained man power and vehicle ownership. We have segregated the transporters according to the packages we have devised and forward the job to the best available moving company on our listing for the specific package selected.

6. How do I make the payment?

Our standard operating procedure requires the payment to be made in advance. However, we have given you an online provision of making 25%, 50% and 100% payment in advance and the balance when the movers arrive for pick up. This balance can be paid either by cash or online according to your convenience. Payments can be made using debit/credit cards and net banking. We have also given our users the convenience of EMI payments for their move, the first of its class in the industry. Whatever works for you is great.

Once the payment is made, a confirmation for the same is provided to both the user and transporter over SMS and email confirmation, giving contact details of both the parties. Payment confirmation to the user is also provided by the particular bank/card used for transaction.

7. Can I move my pet and plants?

Most movers and transporters would deny shipping your plants and pets. The stress and heat usually causes suffocation and may be perilous to both pets and plants. However, upon your insistence, the movers listed on our platform would be willing to move just your plants on additional chargeable basis since the plants occupy major space and cannot be placed on top of each other. There are specialized moving companies to move your pets in specialized crates with caretakers to accompany. We lay the entire emphasis on you since this involves high cost of move.

8. How can I track my shipment?

Although most of the transportation companies do not comply with the advanced tracking technologies to track the movement of their trucks, they have internally established the SMS feature with their drivers through which we get updates of the consignment in transit. We should hopefully get the trucks fitted with tracking technologies shortly.

9. How will I know about my shipment delivery date?

Your truck driver will contact you 24 hours prior to delivery. We have assigned a customer service representative as your primary contact who would also provide you with an update for the date of arrival of your goods.

10. How do I file and receive my insurance settlement on my claim?

Experience for insurance claims is always unpleasant – no one likes to deal with such problems but damage does occur over long distance transportation and insurance claims are a result should you have purchased the transit cover for your goods. The best advice is to understand the claims settlement procedure prior to moving. It is important that you understand your coverage which is based on the value you declare for your goods. Generally, claims department with the movers is handled by untrained people. We have yet again made it easy for you by forming an official partnership with ICICI Lombard for your transit cover. We help you understand your coverage and make certain you provide the proper documentation in the form of an inventory list with the damage noted.
