The lockdown in India is now divided into 3 zones – Green, Orange and Red. While Green and Orange zones have some lenience towards economic activities where all stand-alone shops have been allowed, it is the public transport system that is moving with certain restrictions. It is allowed only in the Green zone with 50% capacity.
As we have mentioned in our previous blog that we have commenced operations for home relocation by partnering with a few professional Packers and Movers Hyderabad with due permissions under essentials category, we want to further bring to your notice that a few apartments in some localities in Hyderabad do not allow any movement inside their societies due to the stricter norms that they practice given the Red Zone definition by local municipal wards.
We try to provide services to maximum inquiries that we get regularly for home relocation through our portal. These are basically smaller movements ranging from 100 cubic feet to 350 cubic feet that can be moved in the mini trucks like Tata Ace and Ashok Leyland Dost. The manpower is strictly practising all safety norms like using masks, sanitisers and gloves. And the total manpower required to complete such tasks too is less and can be managed by 2 or 3 labour maximum according to the total volume. Thus, we do not face much difficulty in transporting smaller volumes on mini trucks which do not come under the purview of stricter restrictions.
On 4th May, 2020, we got an inquiry to move a 3 BHK apartment containing 950 cubic feet from Miyapur to Madhapur, Hitech City. Any volumes over 500 cubic feet need big trucks with 17 feet and above deck length. This particular move required 19 feet truck which was difficult to obtain during the lockdown period. We were however able to secure the truck given our deep network and were glad to send it across to our customer on demand at 8 AM on 5th May, 2020.
The physical inventory check followed by packing started on time according to our customer’s requirements. There were 2 split air conditioners in the inventory list that are supposed to be dismantled by the experts. While we give comprehensive moving service, we usually hire expert AC technicians for the job. Apparently though, the AC technicians were not allowed by the local police check-post to enter into the locality due to the single rider rule while he was accompanied by his assistant on his bike. Upon informing the customer, they kindly obliged to the situation and agreed for AC movement for the next day.
It was by 3 pm that we finished packing and loading the household goods on the truck without the AC and left for the new destination at Madhapur. To our horror, we were not allowed inside the premises at the new destination and parked outside with dismay. It was at the last moment that our customer was informed by the housing society that home movement is barred in the society until further notice.
This was obviously a shocking moment not only to the customer, but also to us since we take pride in completing the task on time giving a delightful experience to our customers by the end of the moving process. Alas! It was not to be so. We had to turn back and unload the entire volume back to their old home with a promise that we will come back at a more suitable time.
But does the transaction end here? Obviously not. The customers are deemed to pay up for the services that they have asked for. This was a complete process right from packing to moving to rearranging. The only difference was, the unloading and rearranging was done back at the same old home. The customer had opted to pay 25% of the total amount while booking the order and balance upon completion of the service. They made the balance payment on UPI directly to the account of the hired Packers and Movers Madhapur for their service.
Therefore, we urge our customers to double check with the housing societies they are moving in to. Most apartment complexes do not allow the movement for the safety precautions they take in the lockdown period due to the infectious Corona Virus that we all are dealing with unfortunately. The latest news on lockdown in Hyderabad suggests complete lockdown until 29th May and we suggest our patrons in Hyderabad, more naturally so to postpone their home relocation until June, 2020 to adhere to all safety measures as laid down by the government and housing societies in Hyderabad.
